Overview

Our partners, Chetna Sinha and Santosh Kumar, have been working on immigration and property law in the UK for a combined total of 25 years in the UK and a number of years prior to that in Indian legal practice.

In the last decade, Chetna and Santosh have run Chetna & Co Solicitors as Cardiff’s leading immigration law practice, with a vast number of clients in Wales, across England and internationally testifying to the trusted, tailored nature of their advice and effectiveness of outcomes in the matters they have taken up.

Partner

Chetna Sinha

Chetna is a leading figure in immigration law practice in South Wales, with over 16 years’ worth of experience in the UK, having qualified as a lawyer in India in 1992 and for practice in the UK in 2004. She has been partner at Chetna & Co Solicitors since the firm’s inception in 2007 and has also worked as consultant on residential property matters at Spencer Skuse & Potter Solicitors.

Prior to her practice in the UK, Chetna worked as a lawyer on civil and criminal law matters in India, representing clients in local courts, Delhi High Court and the Indian Supreme Court, with particular specialisation in environmental law and banking law.

Outside of work, Chetna is a passionate supporter of women’s rights, especially amongst migrant communities in the UK. She is a Board Member (and former Chair) of Black Association of Women Step Out (BAWSO) and a Trustee of multiple South Asian community organisations, and acts on pro-bono matters representing women in family and domestic violence law cases.

Chetna holds an LLB degree, as well as an MSc qualification from Cardiff University.

Santosh Kumar

Santosh has over a decade of experience in immigration law practice in the UK, having been Partner in Chetna & Co Solicitors since its inception in 2007, when he qualified for legal practice in the UK.

He has extensive knowledge of the full range of immigration law matters, with particular interest in spouse visa applications, EU law, immigration appeals and entrepreneur visa applications.

Santosh is an active member of community organisations in Cardiff and enjoys music in his spare time.

He holds an LLB degree, an MBA as well as management qualifications from the UK.
